FC Barcelona is preparing a fairly lively summer transfer window. Or that, at least, is the intention of its management. Negotiations for Alessandro Bastoni have, for example, already started, the transalpine central defender being the leaders’ priority to strengthen the rearguard. The other big issue which will excite the crowds on the other side of the Pyrenees leads us to the number 9 position, since we will have to recruit a great striker to replace Robert Lewandowski. And even if the Pole were to stay, the club wants to entrust the starting role to a new player.
The big favorite is none other than Julián Álvarez, as the Iberian press has been insisting for months now. In addition to the Atlético de Madrid star, the names of Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) and Erling Haaland (Manchester City) come up quite regularly, even if it is sometimes difficult to differentiate real news articles from the fantasies of pro-Barça… These players are indeed very expensive for a club in financial difficulty, and management is working on other options in parallel.
Barça is seduced
As indicated Catalunya RadioVictor Osimhen (Galatasaray) is one of these alternatives. The Galatasaray and Nigeria striker is very popular with the management of FC Barcelona as well as Hansi Flick, and the Catalan club has already crossed paths with the former Lille player – recruited for 75 million euros by the Gala – several times in Europe in recent seasons. His name is therefore placed quite high on the list of potential offensive reinforcements for the summer.
He would a priori be cheaper than the other names put forward, even if his emoluments, estimated at 20 million euros per season, are an obstacle for Barça, which is also trying to maintain a correct payroll. As exclusively revealed by us in March, Saudi Arabia is still in the running, while he is under contract until 2029 in Türkiye. Currently injured, the 27-year-old is having another full season with Galatasaray, with 12 goals and 4 assists in 19 league matches for example, as well as 7 goals in 10 Champions League matches.
