OM has finally returned to victory. Almost two months after its last success in the championship, the Marseille club won at Troyes (0-2), after a difficult meeting. A valuable result for the Marseillais, who even found themselves in the red zone during the international break.
But this victory did not convince Christophe Dugarry. On
RMCthe consultant was particularly harsh towards the level of play displayed by Bruno Genesio’s men. Despite a squad that has, on paper, enough qualities to have a decent season, OM struggles to offer content that meets expectations.
“This team is going to face relegation”
Christophe Dugarry fears the worst for OM. After observing Marseille’s performance in Troyes, the 1998 world champion even delivered an alarming observation. “With the players there are, there is enough to make for a decent season. This team on Sunday will face relegation, that’s for sure. We said to ourselves that OM could aim for a European place, because there are quality players. But if even they are not able to make a forward pass… I advise the players to watch their game”he said, before continuing the criticism.
However, the Phocaeans can quickly give themselves some fresh air. Two meetings against Angers and Le Havre await them in the championship, with the opportunity to continue and move up the rankings. In the event of a full card, Marseille could even look towards the top of the table again: OM, thirteenth, are only two points behind Brest, currently seventh.
