The 8th day of Ligue 1 opened this Friday evening, at the Parc des Princes, with a clash between Paris Saint-Germain (1st) and Racing Club de Strasbourg (3rd). Luis Enrique had chosen to align his team in 3-4-3 and start Désiré Doué, who had not played since September 5 with the French team against Ukraine. Pacho, Hakimi, Mendes, Vitinha and Kvaratskhelia started on the bench. On the Alsatian side, Liam Rosenior also chose to start with a 3-4-3 with Joaquin Panichelli, top scorer in the championship with five goals, in the absence of Emanuel Emegha, injured.

The first opportunity of the match was Parisian, with a strike from Désiré Doué, stopped by Mike Penders (3rd). Three minutes later, the former Rennais found Bradley Barcola launched into the area for the opener (6th, 1-0). An opening score which changed nothing in Strasbourg's ambitions. Following their first opportunity, the Alsatians equalized following a very good cross from Guela Doué and a superb header from Panichelli for the equalizer (26th, 1-1). A quarter of an hour later, Valentin Barco found Diego Moreira, before the Belgian international hopeful beat Lucas Chevalier with a left-footed shot to put the RCSA in front (41st, 1-2).

Srsburg has long believed in victory

On the legs this Friday evening, Diego Moreira took advantage of a bad intervention from Beraldo to find Joaquin Panichelli. The Argentinian then deceived Chevalier to score a double, register his 7th goal this season in the championship and allow Strasbourg to finally believe in success at the Parc. But the reigning French Champions had not said their last word. After a foul by Penders on Doué in the area, Gonçalo Ramos scored his first goal of the season in Ligue 1 and gave hope to the Parisians (58th, 2-3). Before Senny Mayulu, in two stages, allowed Paris to pick up the score (3-3, 79th), ten minutes from the end of this match.

Despite the entries of Willian Pacho, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Quentin Ndjantou and Nuno Mendes, and their domination at the end of the game, the Parisians did not manage to score this final goal to win against valiant Strasbourg. Paris and Strasbourg therefore parted with a spectacular 3-3 to open this 8th day. The capital club remains at the top of the championship, one point ahead of Strasbourg, second. A boon for Marseille and Lyon who could move ahead of the two teams in the evening, in the event of a victory this weekend.
