Having left Manchester United this summer after two mixed seasons with the Red Devils, Rasmus Højlund (22) was loaned with an obligation to buy under conditions to Napoli. Disappointing within the English club where he scored 26 goals and delivered 6 assists in 95 matches, the Danish striker is reviving within the Italian club. After only 6 matches, he scored 4 times with the Partenopei. However, former Manchester United glory Peter Schmeichel believes that the Red Devils made the wrong choice in letting him leave, because he was not in the right conditions to flourish.

At United, there are many people who decide on recruitment: a coach, a sporting director, a technical director and a recruitment director. But Sesko, for example, was a bit strange in my opinion, because we had Hojlund who hadn't received enough balls for two years. Look what he does at Naples, with De Bruyne and McTominay: he scores goals. I've been saying it for two and a half years, Hojlund is a striker who scores 25 goals per year, but he needs to be served. Cunha and Mbuemo would have done it, but they spent £70 million on Sesko, while we are missing a midfielder and have problems in goal. This year we conceded 9 goals due to goalkeeper errors. When I played, or when Van der Sar or De Gea were there, we won 10 points per season» he said on the Sacked in the Morning podcast of the BBC.
