It is madness on the side of Olympique de Marseille. After having enlisted Aubameyang, Paixao, Medina, Angel Gomes or Arthur Vermeeren – to name a few – the Benatia -Longoria tandem completed a new file. This Monday, the Olympian training formalized the arrival of Emerson Palmieri from West Ham.

“Olympique de Marseille is proud to announce the arrival from West Ham of the Italian defender, Emerson Palmieri”specifies the press release from the Olympian team to formalize the news. In great difficulty on the defensive level at the start of the season, the OM therefore adds an experienced profile to its rear line.

An operation at 1M €

The 31-year-old Italian-Brazilian left-back will cost Marseillais € 700,000 only, with an additional € 300,000 in the form of a bonus. An inexpensive operation for a player with a sacred experience, and even knowing Ligue 1, since he had evolved at OL during the 2021/2022 financial year.

Passed by teams like Chelsea and Roma, the Italian international (29 selections) will bring its know-how after a rather encouraging season. With 31 Premier League appearances, including 26 tenure with West Ham, Emerson Palmieri should thus bring a lot to his new coach and compatriot, Roberto de Zerbi.
