FC Barcelona will have to take his pain in patience. Camp Nou will not reopen in September. While the club hoped to partially inaugurate its renovated stadium during the reception of Valence, on September 14, the project has just experienced a new setback.
Barça has still not received the certificate of completion of the work, a document provided by the municipality of Barcelona and essential for the reopening of the enclosure to the public. Without this administrative green light, it is impossible to welcome supporters, even with a reduced gauge as envisaged (27,000 supporters).
Faced with this situation, Blaugrana leaders asked UEFA to play their first champions League game outside. The objective: to win a few additional weeks to finalize the developments and obtain the necessary authorizations. According to
Catalunya Ràdio, The European football body would have agreed.
Again in Montjuïc
Waiting To find a solution, FC Barcelona is forced to stay at the Montjuïc Olympic stadium. But this stadium regularly hosts concerts and events which complicates the planning of meetings. For the match against Valence, a post Malone concert is also scheduled the day before, making the organization even more delicate.
Aware of the situation, the club studies other alternatives, including the stages of Girona (Montlilivi) and Valence (Mestalla). So far, no solution has yet been found.
