AS Saint-Etienne in mourning

Saint-Etienne cries one of his own. Former emblematic defender of the Greens and major actor of the first great successes of the club, Richard Tylinski died this Saturday, August 16 at the age of 87.

A player at AS Saint-Etienne from 1953 to 1966, Richard Toulinski took part in the first two titles of champion of France won in 1957 and 1964 by the Stéphanois club. Success that allowed him to know three selections in the France team.

Son of a minor and descended into the mines from the age of 16, Toulinski is one of those who played the first European Greens match. It was against the Glasgow Rangers at Ibrox Park (1-3 defeat) on September 4, 1957.

ASSE pays tribute to him
