Paris Saint-Germain enters the heart of the matter. This Wednesday evening, in Udine (Italy), the men of Luis Enrique challenge Tottenham in European Super Cup, confrontation between the winner of the Champions League and that of the Europa League. A prestigious and symbolic meeting, which marks the kick-off of the continental season.
Faced with ambitious spurs and now on the European games, PSG wants to hit hard from the start. This meeting also serves as a real test before the group phase of C1, while offering an ideal opportunity to gauge yourself in the face of an opponent with a sharp style. Paris will evolve as a host, which will imply the wearing of its home tunic, Tottenham evolving in white.
And this tunic will not be quite the same as that which will accompany Parisians throughout the national season. For the occasion, the Parisian club has decided to affix a symbol that will only be released during large European evenings: the Eiffel Tower in the shape of a star placed above the logo.
A premium jersey for Europe
This choice, seen in a short video published on the official PSG account, is part of a very targeted use: the star, accompanied by the badge of “European champion”, will only be worn in the Champions League. On the other hand, Ligue 1 and the French Cup will keep the traditional jersey.
Already seen during the Club World Cup in July, where Paris lost to the final against Chelsea (3-0 in New York), this “premium” version of the jersey will therefore return to Udine. It will be the first time that it will be brought in official UEFA competition.
