FC Barcelona could benefit from a cash injection if Philippe Coutinho leaves Aston Villa this month.
Coutinho has been tipped to leave Villa Park before the summer transfer window closes after playing a reduced role under Unai Emery last season.
The Brazil international returned to the Premier League in May 2022, after a loan spell at Villa, but his return to English football has not been smooth sailing.
Injuries have played a part in Coutinho’s lack of activity but Emery is unconvinced by the former Blaugrana striker and is ready to sell him.
Coutinho has started just seven times in the Premier League in 2022/23, as Emery led Villa to a UEFA Europa Conference League place at the end of the campaign.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Coutinho was targeted by two clubs in Saudi Arabia in June, as part of the Saudi Pro League recruitment campaign.
The veteran forward has also reportedly been approached by a Qatar side, with Villa pricing him at around €10m.
FC Barcelona are waiting to be able to recover a 50% sale clause if the amount of the sale exceeds the 18 million euros they received last year.
