The Catalan club is satisfied with Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres as number new, even if the first will soon have to be replaced.
Isak, who recently helped Newcastle United winning the Carabao Cup, posted an exceptional form this season, which has aroused growing interest in its services. Arsenal and Liverpool would be very interested in his signature, and Barcelona would also be interested, even if, for the moment, he remains behind.
Isak would be very interested in a possible transfer to Barcelona, and the club shares this interest. Despite proven financial difficulties, the club wishes to bring it to Catalonia.
Alexander Isak in the cross line of Barça
As Sport reports, the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, and the sports director Deco agree that when the time comes, the club will have to do everything to recruit Isak, Laporta wishing to particularly “an important financial effort”.
Barça met the representatives of Isak at the end of 2024 and, despite the low advances concerning a personal agreement, the two parties left satisfied. However, concluding an agreement would be extremely difficult because Newcastle does not intend to sell, and even if it did, the price requested would be exorbitant.
Despite this, Barcelona would certainly have a significant advantage on Arsenal and Liverpool: Newcastle would prefer not to sell to a Premier League rival, its requested price could therefore be lower than that that English clubs should pay.
It remains to be seen if Barcelona will manage to attach the services of Isak in the future. There is no doubt that he would be the dream successor of Lewandowski, but this dream could be unrealistic.
