Romelu Lukaku has admitted he doubts his move to Juventus will happen this summer, casting doubt on his future.

Speculation over the Belgian striker’s future has increased this summer, with rumors of a possible transfer to Juventus attracting criticism from fans of Inter, the Piedmontese club’s arch rivals. However, after being confronted by an Inter fan outside the Brussels sports center where he is currently training, the 30-year-old appeared to play down suggestions of his move to Turin.

Unsurprisingly, Lukaku didn’t want to expand on the subject when asked if he was going to join the nemesis. But what he said is telling.

Smiling and shaking his head as he got into his car, the Belgian striker was recorded saying: “ No, no… I don’t think the deal will happen”.

This is just the latest twist in a transfer saga that has already been going on for weeks. Juventus’ decision to match Inter’s bid for Lukaku has made the Turin side first in the hunt for his signature.

Rumors of negotiations with Juve drew strong reactions from the Lombard ultras, who blasted Lukaku saying: ” You betrayed us”. With the 2023-24 season fast approaching, it is uncertain whether he will end up joining Juve.
