De Bruyne is in the last year of his contract and has not yet signed again with City, while rumors are increasing concerning clubs from the Saudi Pro League and MLS. The Mirror claims, however, that the experienced midfielder is ready to extend his stay at Etihad Stadium because he hopes to compete in the 2026 World Cup in North America for Belgium.

The report adds that the title champions of the Premier League are ready to offer a new 12 -month lease to De Bruyne, but the midfielder will see his salary decrease considerably. The Belgian international is currently earning £ 375,000 per week, but as part of the new contract, he should pocket £ 150,000 per week. City manager Pep Guardiola is also willing to keep the 34-year-old services because he wants at least one experienced player in the team while he reconstructs the workforce for the 2025-26 campaign.

De Bruyne wants to stay

During an interview with journalists on Friday, Guardiola said: “There are players here who are over 30 years old, but they are part of the future of this club. Kevin and the club will decide on his future. Everyone who has a contract for next season, I expect it to be there. They will help us. Next season will be rich in matches. We cannot do it only with our new players. They can help us and be part of our season. »»
