Good news for OL

Last weekend following the goalless draw between OL and Toulouse (18e day of L1), the TFC had lodged a complaint with the Competitions Commission of the Professional Football League (LFP), noting the presence in the Rhone group of Thiago Almada.

The Rhone club being officially banned from recruitment by the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG), Toulouse president Damien Comolli saw this as a breach of the rules laid down by the LFP. A conclusion that the League does not share.

A free loan to circumvent the rules

On Friday, the Competitions Commission rejected the TFC, confirming the validation of the Argentinian international's contract with Les Gones. Subject to a free loan from Botafogo – another club in the Eagle galaxy dear to John Textor – Thiago Almada cannot be hindered by the precautionary measures pronounced by the DNCG according to the LFP.

Free to Pierre Sage, thus, to line up his world champion in Nantes this Sunday on behalf of the 19e act of the championship.
