Olympique de Marseille continues its momentum with a third consecutive victory in Ligue 1, acquired this Saturday against Rennes (2-1). This success allows the Phocéens, second in the standings, to reduce the gap with Paris Saint-Germain, leader, to just four points.
However, while the Parisians will host AS Saint-Étienne this Sunday to close the 16th day, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg refuses to put the cart before the horse. The Danish defensive midfielder prefers to approach the rest of the season with caution. Especially since for this trip to Breton lands, the Marseille captain believes that his team is far from having produced its best copy.
Hojbjerg tempers enthusiasm
“It was a very complicated match, yes. I even think that we were not at our usual level. There are days like that when it’s important to play with your head. But we worked well, we held together well as a team. Rennes are a very good team, perhaps under construction, but they hurt us in the first half. These three points really do some good,” he said on the microphone of DAZN.
“We take one match at a time. You have to do things well during the week and then repeat them on the weekend. We already have the lead in the next match (against LOSC in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France, editor’s note). The vision does not change: we have to work and we will see where it all takes us”added Hojbjerg.
