PSG makes the hole!

We were waiting for a shock to close this 15e lifting of Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes – a poster removed and disputed between two victorious teams this week on the European scene – PSG did not fail against an ambitious OL to assert itself in control of the elite.

Confident and dominant from the start of the match, Paris quickly became comfortable in this game, finding the fault twice in the first quarter of an hour – through Dembélé (1-0, 8e) then Vitinha, from the penalty spot (2-0, 14e). Yet at kick-off, with Barcola and Marquinhos on the bench in particular, Luis Enrique’s bets seemed to promise the capital club a lot of turbulence…

Cherki thinning, then renunciation

Gradually, in the first act, the Parisians suffered greatly under the impact of a Cherki who was still remarkable in appearance this evening. Decisive passer for Mikautadze, the latter thought he could launch the Gones before the break (2-1, 40e). However, what followed for OL was much messier offensively.

In the second act, Lyon was unable to regain the upper hand; and it was ultimately the players from the capital who, with Ramos entering the game five minutes earlier, drove the point home in the money time (3-1, 88e). All for a most important success since it allows PSG to push back OM and Monaco, its first two pursuers held in check this weekend, by seven lengths. OL for its part remains fifth, 12 points from the top.
