Three days after its success against Manchester City (2-0) in the Champions League, Juventus (6th) returned to the Allianz Stadium to face Venice (20th), as part of the 16th day of Serie A. Bianconeri started this meeting perfectly with a goal from Federico Gatti (19th, 1-0), after a deflection of Khéphren Thuram’s head. At the start of the second half, Kenan Yildiz thought he would make the break for Juve (49th, 2-0), but his goal was refused following a handball.
There Old Lady was finally surprised about ten minutes later. After an excellent cross from Francesco Zampano, Mikael Egill Ellertsson beat Michele Di Gregorio with a powerful header for the equalizer (61st, 1-1). Thiago Motta was not at the end of his surprises. Following a good free kick taken by Hans Caviglia, Jay Idzes gave the visitors the lead with a header (83rd, 1-2). And as Juventus headed towards their first league defeat of the season, Dušan Vlahović allowed the Bianconeri to snatch the point from the draw, in the last minute of added time, from the penalty spot (90th+5, 2-2). The Turinese remain 6th in the Serie A standings, three points behind Lazio. Venice remains last.
