One of the most prominent strikers in the Premier League, Tottenham player Heung-min Son finds himself unknowingly caught up in a scandal affecting his closest family in South Korea.
While he was able to boast of having happily contributed to the development of his son Heung-min in a book that became very popular in the country, Woong-jung Son, 62, created a football academy which very quickly popular in Korea.
Convicted of child abuse
Only the beautiful story turned into a scandal when Heung-min Son’s father, his brother Heung-yun and another educator found themselves before the Korean courts, targeted by several complaints for abuse of minors.
This Friday, the three men were sentenced to a fine of 3 million won (around 2,030 euros), but also and above all to 40 hours of training to prevent violence against children. Although he partially denied the facts, Woong-jung Son still apologized to the court.
