Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly in negotiations to become England’s next boss following the Three Lions’ defeat to Greece.

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, the former Bayern Munich manager is in negotiations for the position of England coach. It comes less than a day after the Three Lions, led by interim manager Lee Carsley, lost 2-1 to Greece in the Nations League.

Carsley has cast doubt on his England future after saying he “ hoped » return to the head of the under-21s, but that the defeat against Greece would not have ” almost no impact » on his chances of obtaining the position of permanent coach. Tuchel has previously been linked with the England manager’s job – a position Gareth Southgate successfully presided over for almost eight years. It remains to be seen whether the Football Association will attempt to secure Tuchel’s services.

England return to Nations League action on Sunday evening when they travel to Finland for their fourth League B Group 2 match.
