The rumors persisted, it is now almost official, Mason Greenwood will indeed leaveMarseille Olympic. The English striker, who arrived in the Marseille city two years ago, will, as announced, join Fenerbahçe against a check for around 40 million euros, part of which will go to Manchester United.
New jersey for Greenwood
Turkish media Aspor has in fact unveiled a video of the winger with the jersey of the vice-champion of Turkey, with whom he should wear the number 11. A video in which he addresses his new supporters. “Hello Fenerbahçe fans, thank you very much for the support you have shown me. I’m very happy to be here and I hope we have a great season.”announced the former England international.
A frustrating record at OM
Arriving in the summer of 2024, Mason Greenwood will have played 81 matches with the Olympian tunic, for 48 goals scored and 17 assists. During his first season at the club, he notably contributed to OM’s 2nd place in Ligue 1, before having a much less regular second season, like his team.
If nothing has yet been officially announced by the two clubs, Greenwood should be the second player to leave OM this summer after Bilal Nadirstill without a club since the end of his contract on June 30.
