While FC Barcelona formalized this Thursday the end of the season for Lamine Yamal, who suffered an injury to the biceps femoris of his left leg the day before, Real Madrid announced for their part that Eder Militao and Arda Güler were suffering from a muscular injury. They too should no longer play with their club by the end of the Spanish championship.
A regular at the Madrid infirmary for several seasons, Eder Militao will return there. And he will not go alone since Arda Güler will accompany him there. Important elements of Alvaro Arbeloa’s team, the Brazilian defender and the Turkish midfielder were respectively hit in the left leg and the right leg. The biceps femoris is involved in both cases.
A duration of unavailability is mentioned between three and four weeks. While they should both be called up with their respective selections for the 2026 World Cup, Militao and Güler should be preserved by Real Madrid who no longer have much hope in La Liga anyway. With six days remaining, the Merengue are relegated to nine points behind the Blaugrana leader.
Militao and Güler in the infirmary
Eder Militao and Arda Güler were injured on Tuesday evening during the match won without success by Real Madrid against Alavés (2-1). The defender came off just before the break, while the midfielder held out until the fifty-seventh minute.
The Merengue will therefore have to do without them from Friday evening, during a trip to the Real Betis field (9 p.m., 32nd day). During the first leg of the championship, Real won comfortably at home with a score of 5-1. Gonzalo Garcia notably scored a fantastic quadruplet.
