A few days after the elimination of Real Madrid in the quarter-final second leg of the Champions League against Bayern, Álvaro Arbeloa called an impromptu meeting with his players on Sunday, according to The Athletic. The Spanish technician notably called for unity, despite a delicate period for the Madrid club. Dani Carvajal also spoke immediately to support this message, a particularly notable intervention as the full-back, hampered by injuries, has only played 13 La Liga matches this season and is reaching the end of his contract in June.

Despite the difficult context currently at Real, several players have shown their support for Álvaro Arbeloa and his staff. Internally, however, the trend would remain towards a departure of the coach at the end of the season, he who had been promoted in January to replace Xabi Alonso.
