Three days after its draw in Bilbao (0-0) and four days before challenging Flamengo in the final of the Intercontinental Cup, Paris Saint-Germain went to win, in pain, on the field of Metz (2-3), for the account of the 16e day of Ligue 1.
A meeting marked by a clash between supporters of the two camps on the sidelines of the kick-off. Around 2 p.m., five hours before the start of the match, ultras from Metz and Paris clashed in Montigny-lès-Metz, a town adjoining the Stade Saint-Symphorien, reports the Republican Lorraine.
Despite the prefectural decree prohibiting the presence of claimed PSG supporters in the city, around forty Parisians participated in this street brawl. There would have been slightly more of them on the Metz side.
The police had to intervene
The national police quickly arrived at the scene of the confrontation and dispersed everyone with tear gas. The latest news is that there have been no arrests and no injuries to report.
Note that nothing was to report in the stands of Saint-Symphorien, where 1,000 Parisian fans took their places in the visitors’ parking lot. On the field, the capital club narrowly won, thanks to the achievements of Gonçalo Ramos (31st), Quentin Ndjantou (39th) and DĂ©sirĂ© DouĂ© (63rd).
