Following his injury exit during Brazil’s 1-1 draw against Tunisia, Eder Militao’s injury has been confirmed.
Militao reportedly felt discomfort from the first minutes of the match, but continued to play until the 57th minute, when he was replaced by Carlo Ancelotti. Examinations confirmed a suspicion of an adductor injury at the back of the thigh, as Real Madrid announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Militao absent for two weeks.
Although the Merengues have not communicated a length of unavailability for Militao, as is generally the case, the daily AS reports that he will be absent for around two weeks. This suggests that it is more of a strain than a muscle tear, which should make his recovery easier.
How many games will Militao miss with Real Madrid?
The Merengues face a series of difficult matches after the international break, including four consecutive trips. The 27-year-old will most likely miss trips to Elche, Olympiakos in the Champions League, Girona and Athletic Club. There is a good chance he will be recovered in time to face Celta Vigo at the Bernabéu on December 7, then Manchester City the following week. Real Madrid will end the year with a trip to Alavés, followed by a home match against Sevilla.
