This is one of the particularities of the Belgian championship, this country with multiple official languages. The matches are broadcast in both French and Dutch, and it is not easy for journalists covering the Pro League to master both.

Séverine Parlakou experienced this on Friday evening during the match between Charleroi and Anderlecht. Thinking his microphone was closed, Peter Morren, the Flemish DAZN commentator, made his remarks: “Severine’s Dutch is dramatic.” He reacts to the interview carried out by the French-speaking journalist at half-time.

Séverine Parlakou received support

The Belgian, who also officiates on French television (notably on the L'Equipe channel), received numerous messages of support after these controversial comments made by her colleague. Séverine Parlakou took care to thank those who wrote a few words about her this Saturday morning.
