FC Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia continues his recovery after surgery on the medial meniscus of his left knee suffered on September 27, following an injury suffered two days earlier during the match against Oviedo. Present at the Palau Blaugrana to attend the Euroleague match between Barça and Valencia Basket, the Spaniard nevertheless confirmed that his return is not planned before the Clásico against Real Madrid on October 26. He hopes for a return “in a month, more or less”if progress continues at the same pace.
He could miss up to six matches, including those against Girona, Olympiakos, Elche, Bruges and Celta, due to an absence estimated at around six weeks. Despite this, the player gave reassuring news about his state of health. “Recovery is going very well”he told Movistar, before adding: “we'll see how I develop, but for now, everything is fine”.
