The Girondins de Bordeaux faces a critical financial situation. On May 27, the commercial court will decide the fate of the club, with a liabilities of almost 94 million euros. However, Gérard Lopez, president and owner, proposed reducing the debt by 40 million euros, which would allow the club to descend under 55 million, reveals
The team. The court's decision will therefore be crucial for the future of the club.

The club's liabilities are divided into three main categories. The first concerns debts to the state and its organizations. The Directorate General for Public Finances (DGFIP) is one of the main creditors with 5 million euros, followed by the URSSAF Aquitaine, which claims nearly 3.4 million euros. Local communities, such as Bordeaux Métropole, also require their share with nearly 12 million euros.

The second category of debts concerns the transfers of unresolved players. Several clubs are still waiting for payments. For example, Amiens claims 3 million euros for Aliou Badji, while the AEK Athens awaits € 600,000 for Clément Michelin. Other clubs, such as Dinamo Batumi and Guingamp, also ask payments not honored by Bordeaux.

An unusual inventory

Finally, the third category includes more unexpected receivables. Bordeaux owes money to a multitude of small businesses and providers. Among them are hotels like the Mercure chain, local shops such as a bakery-pastry, radios like Europe 2 and France Bleu Gironde, as well as winegrowers, a pharmacy and other service providers.

On May 27, an important decision will be made. If the Bordeaux continuation plan is validated, the club may hope to get up from its debts, but it will depend on the court's decision.
