A new duel is looming between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona on the transfer market. At just 19 years old, defensive midfielder Dario Essugo, on loan to Las Palmas from Sporting CP, is attracting the attention of the two Spanish giants after brilliant performances in La Liga.
Since his arrival this summer, Essugo has played 11 games (911 minutes) for Las Palmas, scoring a goal against Mallorca, which he dedicated to his mother. His ability to multiply interceptions, to balance the game and to shine in key matches, such as against Real Sociedad, made him a key piece for Garcia Pimienta’s team.
Real and Barça not alone
With a release clause of 45 million euros, set by Sporting CP, the player under contract until 2026 becomes the focus of a clash on the transfer market.
According to Spanish media, Real Madrid and Barca are closely monitoring Essugo, while other clubs, notably Leeds, are also preparing offers. This talent could well be the next big signing for the two La Liga juggernauts, always on the lookout for young prodigies capable of raising their level.
