Cristiano Ronaldo has named Celtic Park as the stadium he says has the best atmosphere in the world. It is the setting that he prefers among all those where he had the chance to perform during his long and rich career.
The Manchester United and Real Madrid icon has played in stadiums like Anfield, Old Trafford, Santiago Bernabéu, Wembley, Camp Nou, San Siro, Signal Iduna Park and many more, but he chose Celtic Park as his the best stadium in the world.
Ronaldo as Ferguson
Asked by Celtic’s official website which stadium comes to mind when he thinks of the best atmosphere in the world, the Portuguese icon said: “The Celtic fans are incredible. It’s always a pleasure to play there.”
His former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has also spoken highly of the stadium, known as Parkhead in the past, having faced Celtic on several occasions during his career with United and Aberdeen. “Parkhead is THE best course I have ever been to. The players were talking about it the other day – Vidic and Ronaldo were saying it was the best atmosphere they had ever played in. It’s a credit to the supporters, because they don’t do things by halves. It is obvious that the Celtic players are responding to this atmosphere, given the results they have achieved. We will have to surpass ourselves to avoid being beaten by them.”
