Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has maintained the suspense regarding the possible arrival of Joao Felix at the club.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has declined to comment on his and his club’s interest in Joao Felix.

The Atletico Madrid star is highly sought after this summer. Villa are among the teams rumoured to be looking to secure his services, either on loan or permanently. Rumors that his coach has, however, been careful not to confirm.

Emery discreet about Joao Felix

“We have signed very important players for the future, young players,” Emery said at a press conference this week. “In the team we have a solid structure. We built it when we arrived here, from that time until today.”

“Of course, we always have the possibility to add players to improve our squad in different positions, we must be ready to do so, he added. But with the players we have now, we can sign one or two more players. It depends if someone leaves.”

The former PSG manager ended by indicating that his team will do everything to play on all fronts: “The idea is that the structure we have now, even the players we have today and the players who are coming back, I think we have players who will be competitive this year playing the Champions League and the other cups that we will face. We are following some players in case we have the possibility to sign them, but I don’t want to talk about specific players.”
