This Sunday, the 30th day of La Liga offered quite a shock at the top between Real Madrid (1st, 72 points) and Bilbao (4th, 56 points). A tasty poster for which the Merengues opted for a 4-4-2 diamond with the French Ferland Mendy and Aurélien Tchouaméni who started on the field. Up front, Jude Bellingham supported Rodrygo Goes and Brahim Diaz in attack. For Bilbao, a 4-2-3-1 was chosen with Inaki Williams, Oihan Sancet and Alex Berenguer to support Gorka Guruzeta. In goal, Unai Simon gave way to Julen Agirrezabala.

After a first attempt by Inaki Williams which did not put Andriy Lunin in difficulty (5th), it was Rodrygo Goes who opened the scoring. Well found on the left by Brahim Diaz, he delivered a heavy, powerful shot which landed on the right of the Basque goal (1-0, 8th). A great start for Casa Blanca which was already taking the lead. Maintaining control of the game and the ball, Real Madrid had a few possibilities such as a crushed shot from Toni Kroos (34th) or a long shot from Federico Valverde (39th) but it came to nothing.
Rodrygo put on the show
Following a corner, Aurélien Tchouaméni then saw his head flirt with the left post (44th). Leading narrowly at the break, Real Madrid could be satisfied with the content offered. When we returned from the locker room, things started strong again for the Merengues. On the right of the area, Brahim Diaz fired a heavy cross shot where Julen Agirrezabala was beaten, but not the left post (49th). The Bilbao players finally reacted immediately with a volley from Inaki Williams which forced Andrey Lunin to intervene (52nd).
Just when we were starting to think that Real Madrid had failed to take cover, that's when Casa Blanca struck. Jude Bellingham made the difference in the middle and found Rodrygo Goes on his left who cleared a Basque defender before adjusting the goalkeeper (2-0, 73rd). A new stab for the visitors who tried to react without success via Iker Muniain (78th). However, the Madrid evening was not perfect since Federico Valverde was injured (80th). For his part, Eder Militao made his comeback after months of injury (90th +2). Winning 2-0, Real Madrid regains an eight-point lead over runner-up FC Barcelona. For its part, Bilbao remains fourth and under threat from Atlético de Madrid who travel tomorrow evening to face Villarreal.
