Arsenal already assured of being in the final?

Having barely emerged victorious from their duel against FC Porto in the round of 16, Arsenal can nevertheless see far ahead…

Arsenal came close to being penalized against FC Porto. Beaten 1-0 in the first leg, the Premier League leader had to go through a penalty shootout to qualify and thus return to the quarter-finals, fourteen years after his last appearance at this stage of the the competition.

But by dominating FC Porto (0-1, 1-0 4-2 tab), the London club gave itself the right to dream. And all the more so since in recent years, it has been good to eliminate FC Porto during the knockout phase.

The last five teams to have eliminated FC Porto from the round of 16 have in fact systematically pushed to the final. This was the case for Juventus Turin in 2016-2017, Liverpool the following two years, Chelsea in 2020-2021 and Inter Milan last season.
