Announced on the shelves of Bayern Munich, Zinedine Zidane should once again see the bench escape him.
Zinedine Zidane’s future is still uncertain. Questioned by Italian television, the Marseillais recently expressed his impatience to find a coaching outfit, opening the door to a return to Serie A. “Anything can happen, at the moment I’m doing something else but I’m sure I’ll be back on the bench, I’d love to”he confided.
But the Bundesliga could also interest him. Or at least Bayern Munich. As soon as the departure of Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season was announced, the name of the former playmaker came back insistently in Bavaria. According to the German press, the 1998 Ballon d’OR would not be insensitive to the interest of the German giant and would even have clearly positioned himself to take over from the former PSG coach.

However, Zinedine Zidane does not appear to be the priority of the German champions. Its name is in fact Xabi Alonso, who is performing wonders with Bayer Leverkusen, and according to the Telegraph, things are well underway for Bayern Munich. Discussions with the Spanish technician’s entourage have progressed well and the German club is on the verge of beating Liverpool, who are dreaming of bringing back their former midfielder.
An appointment of Xabi Alonso at the head of Bayern Munich would put an end to Zinedine Zidane’s hopes and would further reduce his field of possibilities. Other big names have ticked off his name, like Manchester United, but the Mancunian club has far fewer assets to put forward.
