FC Barcelona is looking for the ideal candidate to succeed Xavi Hernandez this summer, and there is no shortage of difficulties for the next coach.
However, FC Barcelona have received a boost from Thomas Tuchel, one of their main candidates, who will prioritize an offer from FC Barcelona over an offer from England.
The Bayern Munich manager will leave the Allianz Arena this summer and has been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, two teams who could well be looking for a new coach this summer, amid uncertainty over Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag. Xavi Hernandez has already announced his departure from Barcelona.
Tuchel’s priority
According to Sky DE, relayed by Sport, Tuchel would prioritize FC Barcelona rather than the possibility of taking charge of a Premier League team, having decided that his next adventure would take place in La Liga. Tuchel is said to be attracted to Barcelona’s philosophy and the Blaugrana are convinced he is a top coach, even if a tricky season at Bayern has sown some doubts in their minds. However, he has many awards under his belt and works well with young people.
If the certainty that a place becomes available is greater in Catalonia, the question of knowing what type of position he will engage in is much less obvious. There is talk of major sales to Barcelona this summer just to be able to register players, let alone reinvest in the team, but expectations are likely to be high regardless. Previous reports from BILD also indicate that he would be open to returning to Chelsea this summer.
