In a late match, Real Madrid won at Getafe (0-2) thanks to a double from Joselu. The Merengues regain the lead in La Liga before a series which could be decisive.

A job well done. After two last sluggish victories against Almeria and Las Palmas, Real Madrid was much calmer this Thursday to win on the field of Getafe (0-2), in a late match of the 20th day of La Liga.

The Merengues were able to count on the efficiency of their center forward, Joselu. Preferred over Rodrygo, the Spanish international scored two nice goals from No. 9: a header from a cross from Lucas Vazquez (14th), and a nice control from the right to follow up with a strike from the left, on a serve from Vinicius (56th).

A new injury for Real

Joselu could even have been a decisive passer for Vinicius, if the Brazilian had not been so clumsy in front of goal (63rd, 69th), but Real Madrid did not tremble, because Getafe, who found the post (73rd ), was never able to close the gap.

Real Madrid thus regains the lead in the ranking before hosting Atlético de Madrid (3rd) then Girona (2nd), in a series which could decide the fate of La Liga. The bad news is that Carlo Ancelotti may have lost another defender, Antonio Rüdiger, who had to make way for Eduardo Camavinga at half-time.
