Jürgen Klopp is a loyal man. He will never coach any club other than Liverpool in the Premier League.
On Friday, Jürgen Klopp announced, in a press release published on Liverpool’s X account, his departure next June, at the end of the current season. The German technician cited a form of weariness to justify this decision.
He also assured that he would never coach any other club than the Reds in England. “What I know for sure is that I will never, ever manage any other club in England than Liverpool, one hundred percent. It is not possible. My love for this club, my respect for the people is too great. I will not be able. I couldn’t think about it for a second. There’s no chance,” he announced on the club’s official website that he will leave in five months, before specifying: “I won’t manage a club or a country for at least a year, it’s not possible, I can’t do that and I don’t want to.”
Concerning the succession of Jürgen Klopp on the Liverpool bench, a big favorite already seems to emerge according to the English bookmakers. This is Xabi Alonso. The former Spanish defensive midfielder wore the colors of the Reds for five seasons, between 2004 and 2009. Currently coach of Bayer Leverkusen, he has not lost a single match with this team since the start of the season. “It would be a dream to manage Liverpool one day, the club means a lot to me but first I have to prepare and prove myself,” he confided to talkSPORT in 2018.
