Atlético is ready to compete with FC Barcelona to recruit one of the revelations of the season in the Spanish La Liga.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly made an offer for England striker Mason Greenwood. The latter belongs to Manchester United, but he is performing this season in Getafe. He shines brightly there, arousing the interest of the biggest teams.

Atlético – Barça, a standoff looms behind the scenes

According to the daily Marca, Atletico would therefore have contacted United with the hope of reaching an agreement. However, the Matelassiers must fight hard to achieve their goals because they are not alone in this regard. Barça’s rival is also reportedly eyeing the young English striker.

The ball is now in MU’s court. Note that in the event of a sale, Getafe will receive a colossal sum of 25% of the transaction amount. The English therefore have every interest in releasing their player for the benefit of the highest bidder.

As a reminder, before relaunching in Spain, Greenwood had been sidelined for several months. He was in legal trouble, with a sexual assault complaint filed against him. The charges were subsequently dropped and the player was cleared by his management. An episode that is now part of the past.
