As FC Barcelona prepare to meet Real Madrid for a highly anticipated Clásico, Hansi Flick was asked about the arrival of Rodri, who was also very close to joining the Merengues this summer. The latter will inevitably experience a special encounter after having been coveted for a long time by the Madrilenians. But for Hansi Flick, there is no question of thinking about that. “We have to focus on our team, on the impact he had at Barça. When we have the opportunity to recruit a player like him, everyone at the club agreed that he would bring us a lot”explained the German technician at a press conference.
Without wanting to dwell on the interest of Real Madrid, Flick especially insisted on the contribution of the former Manchester City player in his midfield. “He’s an asset, we’ve seen his impact and I’m delighted he’s with us. With Pedri, they bring a lot of quality to the midfield”he added. A particularly attractive duo on paper, which could play a major role in Barcelona’s ambitions this season.
