Aston Villa manager Unai Emery opposes the departure of his French defender Clément Lenglet during the winter transfer window.
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has made it clear that he wants to keep Clément Lenglet in his squad.
Emery compliments Lenglet
The defender is on loan to Villa from Barcelona and was announced as a likely starter during the winter transfer window. AC Milan and Bayern Munich notably came to the news concerning him.
But, for Emery, there is no question of letting him go. “I’m very happy with him. His commitment to every workout is incredible. He is a very good professional and always ready to play. During the last matches, he was ill. He was better at Brentford but still a bit ill.”
The former PSG coach then promised to field the former Nancy player during the match against Sheffield United this Friday. “Tomorrow, if everything goes well, I think he will play. I can’t wait to see him and I’m really excited to know how he will help us tomorrow and in the next matches. I want to keep him because we need players for the challenges we are going to face this season.” Words that will certainly please the French international a lot.
