The Parisian coach, Luis Enrique, admitted that there is a need to review certain things in his team’s game.
PSG remains on a pitiful setback in the Champions League against AC Milan (1-2). A poor performance which ended a series of five consecutive victories. Faced with this situation, and while he has long opposed any questioning, coach Luis Enrique is willing to review some of his playing concepts.
Luis Enrique willing to improve some points
“It’s obvious that the previous result determines the next match. We have to change the mentality, move from the Champions League to Ligue 1. We have to analyze the points to improve, put forward new ideas,” indicated the Spanish technician, this Friday at a press conference.
While admitting the need to renew himself, Luis Enrique assured that the basic principles of his training will remain the same. “We are a team that never makes speculation, whether at home or away. We are going to face our opponent, it’s my idea, I’m not saying it’s necessarily the best, but I’m not going to change it.”

The Parisian coach also responded to those who believe that his team is not very comfortable when playing away from home: “ It’s much more pleasant to play at home, with our audience, of course. With our idea of playing at home which means that we perhaps take more risks. But the playing field is the same size. I don’t see why the style of play should change. We have to play the same way and that’s what we did. There is not a single away match where PSG was not competitive. We can be more efficient, do better, but the idea has not changed.”
Finally, the former La Roja coach spoke about the upcoming match to Auguste Delaune. He expects a complicated game
against one “of the best teams of 2023 in Ligue 1”. “This means that it is a team that is well-rounded, that has a clear idea. We will see tomorrow what has been prepared for us. We’ll see how we can adapt, but it will be difficult. Obviously, we don’t expect a simple or quiet match. It will be a very intense, complicated match. Clearly, I think we need to be focused so as not to be surprised”he added.
