The Premier League offered a clash between future English opponents PSG and OM in the European Cup, and Brighton hurt Newcastle (3-1) on Saturday afternoon.
A European shock was on the program for the 4th day of the Premier League but Brighton-Newcastle on Saturday afternoon also interested PSG and OM. The Magpies and the Seagulls will be the second opponents of the two French clubs mentioned, respectively on October 4 at St James’ Park in the Champions League, and on October 5 at the Stade Vélodrome in the Europa League. Brighton, last season’s surprise team, once again did very well by beating the club held by Saudi Arabia (3-1).
Still as untenable in their den of Amex Stadium, Roberto De Zerbi’s men had the pleasure of seeing Evan Ferguson score his first career hat-trick. The 18-year-old Irishman opened the scoring in the middle of the first period, opportunistic (27th), before scoring with a huge strike on the hour mark (65th), then a deflected attempt (70th). Calum Wilson saved the honor for the northern visitors in added time (92nd).

Brighton offers its 3rd victory of the season and is in 4th place in the PL standings, while Newcastle aligns its 3rd defeat in a row against another European qualifier (after losing against Man City and Liverpool). The formation of Eddie Howe evolved however without his rock Sven Botman.
