Manchester City and Sevilla FC meet this Wednesday in the UEFA Super Cup (9 p.m.). Here is the probable composition of the Sky Blues.

It is a traditional meeting, in the heart of summer, to take stock of the forces present. The UEFA Super Cup will once again pit Champions League winners Manchester City against Europa League winners Sevilla FC. An enticing poster that the English champion logically approaches with the favorite grandissime costume.

For this meeting, Pep Guardiola should however compose a completely new eleven. Several executives left this summer, like Ilkay Gündogan and Riyad Mahrez. Playing master Kevin De Bruyne has meanwhile joined the infirmary for the entire first part of the season. City should therefore present themselves with a new look team. And against all odds, Guardiola could associate his two scorers, Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, on the front of the attack.

An unprecedented eleven for City!

Contrary to his habits, Guardiola could opt for a 4-4-2 in which Foden and Grealish would have the keys of the game in eccentric leading roles on the sides. The Rodri-Kovacic pair is expected to start in midfield. In defense, the hinge could include rookie Gvardiol, alongside Akanji, while Walker and Aké are expected on the flanks. Ederson will hold his place in goal.

Manchester City’s expected line-up: Ederson – Walker, Akanji, Gvardiol, Aké – Foden, Rodri (c), Kovacic, Grealish – Alvarez, Haaland.
