Real Madrid have picked up their first injury of the season, after the club confirmed Dani Ceballos picked up the injury during pre-season.
The 26-year-old recently extended his contract for four years and will be fighting for minutes in a bloated midfield next season.
But he has just suffered a first setback in this battle. Real Madrid have confirmed that he has a problem with his thigh muscle tendon. He did not specify the duration of his recovery. According to the first information from journalist Alberto Pereiro, he could be absent between four and six weeks, which would deprive him of matches against Athletic Club, Almeria and Celta Vigo.
A big competition
Over the past 12 months, Ceballos has remained in fine form with Real Madrid, which no doubt worked in his favor during his contract renewal negotiations.
As well as Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde, Ceballos now faces competition from Arda Guler, Brahim Diaz and Jude Bellingham, although they don’t all play in similar areas. Nevertheless, this is undoubtedly their best game sector.
