September: Player of the Month

October 3, 2012 6:04 pm

As discussed on this week’s podcast, there were a lot of great performances in September, but only five players can be put forward for the coveted FFW Player of the Month award. Andre-Pierre Gignac was the recipient of August’s award and hasn’t scored since ;) who will be cursed this month?

MARCO VERRATTI (Paris Saint-Germain)

Some outstanding performances in both the league and Champions League, he is looking like the missing piece in PSG’s jigsaw, maturity beyond his years, this could be the first of many nominations.

WISSAM BEN YEDDER (Toulouse)

Three goals and an assist for this young star have given Toulouse an excellent start in the league and is looking like this year’s new star in Ligue 1

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC (Paris Saint-Germain)

Five goals and one assist during September is an incredible return from the 31-year old. He has been invaluable to PSG so far, he could easily go on and score 25+ goals this season.

REMY CABELLA (Montpellier)

As Montpellier have improved, so has the play of young Cabella. Two goals and two assists this month, scored with his first touch against Reims. He also impressed against Arsenal. Wonderful young player that has a bright future.

JAVIER PASTORE (Paris Saint-Germain)

Similar to Cabella, Pastore has supplied two assists and scored two goals in September, wonderful play for a play much maligned for most of last season. He is showing the form that got everyone excited at the start of last season, let’s just hope he can keep it up.
