Oumar Konaté, 17, will sign up with Olympique de Marseille and join the Marseille club next year, when he comes of age.

Everything is going well for Olympique de Marseille at the moment. Having become attractive again on the transfer market as evidenced by the four-star recruitment carried out this season, OM is also trying to become a priority destination for the best prospects on the planet. According to the specialist media Le Petit OM, Oumar Konaté, tested by the Marseille club in recent days, will be involved in the Canebière in the coming days.

Konaté, 17, is heralded as one of the best young attackers on the African continent and has constantly been outclassed in the Ivorian selection, until recently in the U23. A resident of SOL FC, the person concerned recently finished top scorer in the Montaigu tournament, reserved for young people under 17 years old.

He won’t come until he’s 18

Oumar Konaté participated in the meeting between the reserve team of Olympique de Marseille and that of RC Lens. The Olympian leaders were visibly convinced despite their team’s defeat (3-0).

He will not leave Ivory Coast straight away and will only sign for OM after he turns 18, in the summer of 2025, for what should be a professional contract.

Very popular in Africa and particularly in Ivory Coast, a country which is one of the club’s sponsors, Olympique de Marseille seems determined to no longer let the best talents from the African continent pass by.
