Canal+ announced on Monday that it was strengthening its team of consultants with the arrival of a French international, still active.

After Bertrand Latour, who made his big debut on Canal Football Club on Sunday evening after leaving the L’Equipe channel, Canal+ has announced the arrival of a new recruit. Thomas Sénécal, sports director of the encrypted channel, made official the arrival as a consultant of Clément Grenier, this Monday on the airwaves of Europe 1.

The French international (5 caps), who has not yet ended his playing career, should begin his new adventure this Thursday. The former Lyon player is expected to commentate on the Champions League match between Brest and Sturm Graz, alongside David Berger. He will also sometimes appear on set.

Grenier still on the market

Despite this new role as a consultant, Clément Grenier is not putting an end to his football career. The 33-year-old midfielder is currently without a club, free to commit wherever he wants after leaving Racing Santander at the end of last season. Before that, he had played for OL, AS Roma, Guingamp, Rennes and Mallorca.

As a reminder, Canal+ needed to expand its team of consultants with the new format of the Champions League, which will be broadcast in full and exclusively on the channels of Vincent Bolloré’s group.
