Big issue of this end of transfer window, the future of Kevin Danso will finally find its epilogue. Unlike the last transfer windows with multiple aborted departures, the Austrian defensive rock will pack his bags and leave the Artois club, despite Will Still’s bluffing game in recent days in the press: “My speech has not changed. He is there, always there and will be there tomorrow. He is 100% involved and gives his heart for the good of the team and for his own good. We know that there are things that are moving, offers that are expected and that will be made. But for the moment, this is not the case and Kevin (Danso) is still there.”he said at a press conference this weekend. But now, no turnaround is possible. Kevin Danso will be Romain.

“Regarding Kevin Danso, he will surely leave us, if we have something interesting. There are discussions, but we are not there yet. There is no agreement with any club. Kevin is a very important player in the squad and we would be very happy to be able to keep him, but I am not sure that we can. In any case, we will not make any effort for him to leave.”said Pierre Dréossi, the Lens general manager, speaking to Canal+ on the sidelines of the Europa Conference League match. Wanting to bring back an impact player to strengthen its rearguard, AS Roma made the Voitsberg native its top priority, even going so far as to submit a first firm offer to the Artois club for an amount around 20 million euros. A sum that was rejected by the northern club, which was then demanding nearly 23 million euros.

Paying loan with OA!

After several days of intense negotiations between the different parties, an agreement was reached between the Giallorossi and the Blood and Gold. Lens had nevertheless refused the second Roman proposal which took the form of a paid loan of one million euros with an obligation to buy of 21 million euros. According to our information and after long negotiations which ended during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, Kevin Danso will finally join Daniele De Rossi’s AS Roma in the form of a paid loan with an obligation to buy of between 23 and 25 million euros. Roma has revised its offer upwards. The discussions took a long time to reach a total agreement, but it is now done. The Austrian rock will leave Nord-Pas-de-Calais to settle down in the Italian capital where he will notably meet up with Florent Ghisolfi, now sporting director of the Louve since last June.

Struggling at the start of the season (0-0 against Cagliari, 1-2 against Empoli), Roma got their hands on the perfect reinforcement. With the end of the loans of Dean Huijsen, Diego Llorente as well as the sale of Marash Kumbulla, there were only three players left who filled the Roman central defense with Gianluca Mancini, Evan Ndicka and Chris Smalling. A complex situation that forced De Rossi to bring the young Federico Nardin (17 years old) up to the professional group for the first two days of Serie A. Thanks to the arrival of Kevin Danso, AS Roma finally achieved one of its final summer objectives, namely to strengthen the defense after having focused for a long time on the attacking front in this transfer window marked by the signings of Artem Dovbyk and Matias Soulé.
