PSG: Ousmane Dembélé, the new humiliation from the penalty spot

Ousmane Dembélé completely missed a penalty awarded to PSG against Strasbourg, this Saturday, as part of the 7th day of Ligue 1.

On the bench at kick-off this Saturday for PSG’s trip to Strasbourg, Ousmane Dembélé entered the match shortly after the hour mark (63e), replacing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the pitch, while the score was 1-0 for Racing.

Less than ten minutes after his appearance on the pitch, the outgoing Ballon d’Or benefited from a penalty obtained on a handball in the Alsatian area following a shot from Désiré Doué. The opportunity to equalize for Paris… in vain since the person concerned did not hit the target on his attempt.

For PSG, this is yet another snub in the exercise, just three days after the missed penalty by Ferran Torres against Manchester City in the Champions League. Since the spring of 2025, the statistics have been appalling. Out of 24 penalties obtained in all competitions, Luis Enrique’s team missed 11. That’s almost 46%.
