Continuation of the 2nd day of Serie A this Sunday evening. Heavily humiliated by Hellas Verona (3-0) on the first day of the championship, Antonio Conte’s Napoli wanted to find some colour at home, on the pitch of the San Paolo Diego Armando Maradona stadium, with the reception of Bologna, now coached by Vincenzo Italiano. The Italian coach of the Partenopei could count on the return of Alessandro Buongiorno in the starting eleven while waiting for other recruits before the end of the transfer window. Dominant, Napoli managed to open the scoring in the wake of its captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo (45th + 2), shortly before the break. In the second half, already an assist maker, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened his account for the season by doubling the lead (75th), before Giovanni Simeone scored his own goal (90th + 4) to seal the victory (3-0) on a pass from new recruit David Neres. Next weekend, Napoli (11th) will play at home against Parma. Bologna (17th) will face Empoli.

In the other game of the evening, Daniele De Rossi’s AS Roma hosted Empoli, on the pitch of the Olimpico stadium. The Italian coach did not hesitate for a second and started Paulo Dybala, a few days after his surprising refusal to leave the She-Wolf for the Saudi club Al-Qadisiyah. It was the first time that the trident composed of Artem Dovbyk, Paulo Dybala and Matias Soulé started together. Despite all this great excitement, the fall was violent for the Giallorossi who conceded the opening goal scored by Emmanuel Gyasi (45th). Decisive passer on the first goal, Lorenzo Colombo, loaned by AC Milan, doubled the lead in the second half (61st). Eldor Shomurodov’s reduction of the score did not change the outcome of the match which ended in a Roman defeat (1-2). Before the international break, Empoli (6th) will travel to Bologna. Rome (15th) will travel to Turin to cross swords with Juventus.
