For his first match in the colours of Olympique de Marseille, Geronimo Rulli shone in a resounding victory against Brest (5-1). The Argentinian goalkeeper distinguished himself with six saves, including a penalty, delivering a solid performance.
Arriving this summer from Ajax Amsterdam for 4 million euros, Rulli expressed his satisfaction after the match.
“I’m very happy. I was really waiting for this moment. A first match is always special, but I felt good on the pitch,” he said.
“We went for a great victory”
Rulli also stressed the importance of his teammates in his performance. “My teammates allowed me to have this peace in goal, Rulli confided for beIN SPORTS. Last year we didn’t have this victory to start the championship but we’re starting well. We want to do this Olympique de Marseille proud.”
“It’s true that we were winning 1-0, I’ll stop that penalty. At the end of the first half, we had instructions but we knew exactly what we had to do. We went for a great victory and of this caliber, it’s beautiful.”he concluded.
