Newcastle are in a bind because of Tonali

Suspended since October 2023, following a sports betting affair, Sandro Tonali will soon be making his return to the pitch. Newcastle announced this Thursday that the suspension of its midfielder will be officially lifted on August 28. The 24-year-old midfielder could therefore make his return against Tottenham on September 1 at St-James Park, for the third day of the Premier League. His last match in the English championship dates back to October 21, 2023 against Crystal Palace.

The end of ten months of suspension for the former AC Milan player. As a reminder, Tonali was involved in an illegal sports betting case with other young Italian players. He had admitted to betting on Milan matches while he was still playing for the RossoneriThis suspension notably caused him to miss Euro 2024 with the Blue Squad.
